Ideal Pure Water is led by a Jeff Platt, the 4th generation of bottlers and the pioneer who saw the pure water revolution coming, and general manager Mike Levine, formerly the president at Herman Nut Company and Pear’s Coffee. They lead a team of more than 20 employees with a combined 300+ years in bottling and local service.
The roots of Ideal Pure Water start in 1916 with Sam Platt and the Ideal Bottling Company he stared in Lincoln, NE. Sam’s son Max Platt secured the bottling franchisee for RC Cola and Canada Dry in Omaha and Max’s son Mike ran the Vess Bottling franchise at 915 N. 24th Street starting in 1966.
When Metro Area Transit eyed that same corner for their new headquarters and bus barn, the business was moved to its current location at 7667 J Street in 1980. Waves of consolidation in the bottling industry followed, culminating with the Platt family leaving the soda bottling business and Jeff Platt launching Ideal Pure Water in 1991.
Since then, Ideal Pure Water has continued its growth as the local, family-owned, essential drinks provider, making sure you, your family and co-workers never go thirsty!
